God has opened a wide door for effective service to reach the children of Haiti through Principle Approach Christian Education and Biblical worldview training and curriculum..

Josiah Friberg introducing Principle Approach education to leaders

In October 2011, Josiah Friberg traveled to Gonaives, Haiti, on a fact-finding mission to evaluate the educational needs of Eben-Ezer Mission and their two major Christian schools. Pastor Michel Morisset, along with his leadership team, have formally asked Educating Generations for Christ to oversee and implement the Principle Approach philosophy and methodology of Christian education in their mission schools.

Josiah Friberg has completed providing 12 weeks of intensive teacher-training designed to transform indigenous Christian teachers & educators by renewing their minds with God’s Word, by instilling a Biblical worldview, by developing self-government and Christ-like character, and by teaching them the Principle Approach Christian philosophy of education, Biblical teaching methods, and a Biblical worldview curriculum. PRAY for these four educators: Brizard, Julienne, Jaccene, & Claire.

Full of joy and excitement on the first day of training.

HISTORICAL PRECEDENT – WILLIAM WILBERFORCE

William Wilberforce

We have a chance to follow in the footsteps of William Wilberforce who did all he could to help Haiti succeed. In 1815, Hait’s King Henri Christophe appealed to Wilberforce for help with education. Christophe was a former slave who possessed great abilities, intelligence, and vision, and he was a great admirer of the English – especially for their leadership in the struggle to abolish the slave trade. Christophe built schools and desperately needed teachers. Wilberforce and the Clapham saints immediately sent evangelical Scottish professors, French-English New Testaments, a copy of the British Encyclopedia, and virus vaccines. Wilberforce also sent letters advising Christophe oneverything that related to the great project, including a plea for Christophe to educate the women of Haiti too. Like Wilberforce and the Clapham saints, we at Educating Generations for Christ have a great opportunity today to lay Christ as the foundation for education in the new Haiti.

NEWS FLASH: The FRIBERGS are moving to HAITI.

The Fribergs received orders from Heaven’s Headquarters through their Captain that they are being deployed to the strategic location of Gonaives, Haiti. The Fribergs have been commissioned to disciple the nation of Haiti for the Kingdom of God through Christian education.

They have been assigned the strategic task of restructuring the Christian University of Haiti and Eben-Ezer Mission’s schools and of overseeing all of the training and implementing of “Principle Approach” Biblically-based and Christ-centric education. In addition, Josiah will be laying the groundwork for establishing the first Christian Teachers’ College in Haiti. This critical task will include a nation-wide teacher-training bachelor degree program to raise up a new generation of Christian teachers to educate future Haitian generations for Christ, for His Kingdom, and for His glory.

PRAY for the Fribergs as they transition from North Carolina to Haiti. Josiah has already moved to Haiti in February 2013, and now he is preparing his family to join him in Haiti. Lord willing, Brenda and the kids will be joining Josiah in Haiti in November of this year. An apartment is being prepared for the Friberg family to live in. It is located on the second floor above Eben-Ezer Mission’s Children’s Home on the outskirts of Gonaives. A kitchen still needs to be installed, running water needs to be installed, screens need to be put on all the windows, and a wall and entrance door need to be constructed. Pray for these things to be completed before November so that the rest of the family can join Josiah in Haiti.
