“Hear, O Israel! Yahwah is our God, Yahwah is one. And you shall love Yahwah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”  Deut. 6:4-7

“We will not hide them [the words of God] from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”  Psalm 78: 4-7

“O how I love Thy law! It is my meditation all the day. Thy commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. I have more insight than all my teachers, for Thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, because I have observed Thy precepts. I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I may keep Thy Word.” – Ps 119:97-101
